Showroom Re-Opening on 8th June

Posted on 5 Jun 2020

Here at Phillips, our workshop started back on 1st June, and now, following the recent announcement from the Northern Ireland Executive, the showroom is being allowed to open again too. New, Used & Motability vehicle sales will commence again, although in a somewhat different format to what you would normally experience. We have changed many of our procedures according to government guidelines and also to protect our customers and staff and these will stay in place for the foreseeable future.

Like the workshop, when our showroom re-opens, it will be by appointment only, to help manage the number of visitors at any one time. Like many other retail outlets that have stayed open throughout lockdown and others that will be opening soon, we need to maintain the social distancing guidelines that have been recommended by government.

You can watch our video about re-opening and more of the measures we have put in place below -

We have many customers who have been patiently waiting for lockdown to end in order that they might collect their new cars, purchased before lockdown started, and scheduling this will be our priority once we re-open. We would like to thank all of these customers for their patience and support over the last few months during these unprecedented times we find ourselves in, and also those who have been waiting for us to open to be able to purchase their next car. It won't be long now! We will be getting in touch to arrange an appointment for these handovers as soon as we can and these will be completed in a safe manner, staying contactless where possible.

We realise that many of you will be reluctant to venture into an area where other folks are gathered so as well as our distancing measures in the showroom there are some sales tools for us to utilise that will be new to both you and us. Remote meetings have become very popular over the last couple of months and we plan to use them where possible. To complement the use of phone, we will now be able to use video calling with our sales team and they will be  here to answer any queries you may have.

For those that prefer to not call in to the showroom at all and who don't feel the need for a test drive, you can now buy or reserve any of our Approved Used vehicles on our website from the comfort of your own home. You can get a part exchange valuation, tailor finance quotes and even apply for finance all from a secure area of our website. Customers have already been availing of this new method of buying a vehicle. We can even deliver a fully prepared car right to your door and carry out a contactless handover.

Here are a few other things to expect when you come to our showroom -
  • We need to restrict the number of customers in the showroom at any one time, so all sales bookings are strictly by appointment only. All appointments will be limited to a maximum of 2 adults only.

  • We will still be offering test drives, although these will now be unaccompanied for social distancing purposes and the vehicle will be sanitised before and after the test drive. Please bring your driving licence with you - we will need a copy for insurance.

  • Our showroom now has fewer cars on display and they are all locked. Vehicles can be opened by request to allow us to know when a vehicle needs to be re-sanitised. We have clear directional signage and any movement around the showroom should be accompanied by a saleperson. There are perspex screens on desks for protection and we have unfortunately had to suspend our refreshment services.

  • You can make use of our disposable gloves and facemasks if you wish, which are available at the showroom entrance. You will also see bottles of hand sanitising gel all around the showroom. Some of our staff may choose to wear them too.

  • If you are part-exchanging your current vehicle, we can offer a valuation before you visit the showroom. We wll confirm the price once we have been able to view your car at the appointment. You will be asked to asked to sanitise the vehicle before our salespeople inspect it. This is for their safety and we would please ask you to respect this and not be offended by our request.

We realise that this is going to be very strange for a while but we are all having to get used to new ways of doing things during this pandemic that we never imagined we would ever need to do. We would ask you to please bear with us as we adjust to these procedures within our sales process.
